Library & CollaboratoryTM Classroom
Libraries are fascinating because they are both a place to ‘get away from it all’ in the quiet of a reading room chair, and a place to ‘get into’ everything, the whole collaborative world of recorded knowledge, experience and wise perspective.
The Secret Fort’sTM Library is just such a place, presenting and containing archives of:
- CollaboratoryTM News
- Essays and opinion on Arts related subjects
- Project and Lesson Plans
- Original Prose and Poetry from the Artists of the Collaboratory
Arts Challenges will be at the core of the CollaboratoryTM Library’s Outreach Program, aiming to build connections and collaborate with budding and blossoming creative people of all ages. The resulting work produced from these Challenges will be collected and presented on the website, as well as in public exhibition when possible, depending on the Challenge’s core artform.
Example: Two to four people play a game of Scrabble. When the game is completed, one or more of the players write a short story of 1000 to 2000 words total, built around the words ‘played’ in the game.
Tuesday October 25, 2016, 3:15pm. And So It Begins …
This first post of a new, illustrated piece of writing fires the starter’s pistol, optimistically with a resonating snapped crack.
This next long run begins at a learning lope, today, now. Finally.
Thanks to Eric and Jeff. All of them.
There’s lacing and lattice, links, ties and bindings to discover about this new, winged and webbed cyber one-sie, now wrapped round my mind, hands and feet, accessed through my fingers tips. Only time will tell if I’ll get beyond crawling and rolling over to eventually walk, run and perhaps fly far around the globe in it.
The article, Life After RISD, presents a 50-year perspective and handful of advisory ideas to my Alma Mater’s new crop of creative kids and their parents about tapping the true value of an Arts Education. It also provides a word and picture window into the character of a person you may want to work with, and how the RISD experience still serves me daily.
Enjoy the ‘reading ride’ and please feel free to comment and connect.
That’s what we’re here for.
